ESG Priorities

Our materiality analysis highlights the issues that matter most to us and our stakeholders, guiding us toward a sustainable maritime future.

Materiality Analysis Overview

In 2023, we conducted our first materiality analysis to determine key sustainability priorities with active participation from our stakeholders. This collaborative approach enabled us to identify topics that significantly impact our operations and areas where we can create the most value.

Materiality Matrix

Our materiality matrix plots the low, medium and high priorities relevant for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics based on insights from both internal and external stakeholders.

High-Priority Topics

Following our comprehensive materiality analysis, we have identified four critical sustainability priorities that are strategically significant for Arkas Line. These topics reflect our dedication to addressing pressing environmental and social challenges while creating long-term value for our stakeholders and operations.

Alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

As Arkas Line, our commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in our operations and values. We prioritize climate responsibility, working to reduce our emissions and advance toward carbon-neutral shipping, in line with SDG 13 climate action. Our focus on protecting marine ecosystems is reflected in initiatives like our collaboration with TURMEPA, preserving the health of our marine ecosystem and supporting SDG 14 life below water. By empowering our people, we are building a diverse, inclusive, and skilled workforce dedicated to our sustainability goals, supporting SDG 3, 4, 5, and 8. We aim to build strong relationships with our stakeholders, find solutions to social challenges and foster collaboration to create a sustainable future for the maritime industry and the society by supporting SDG 9, 10, 12, 16, 17.
