The First Container Shipping Company in Türkiye to Use Biofuel:
Arkas Line
As we continue our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, a key focus of our sustainability goals, we are also maintaining our leadership in maritime transportation.
We are the first container shipping company in Türkiye to use the ISCC – certified Bio24F Marine Fuel, supplied by Arkas Bunker.
Biofuel Transition at Arkas Line

The use of biofuels is a key component of Arkas Line’s fuel transition strategy to reduce its carbon footprint in maritime transportation. Marine biofuels supplied by Arkas Bunker offer low-carbon, practical fuel solutions fully compatible with existing vessel operations.
Building on operational and technical experience, biofuel use at Arkas Line began with BIO24F (24% biocomponent) and has progressed to BIO30F and BIO100, which contain higher biofuel content. BIO30F delivers approximately 28% CO₂ emission reduction compared to conventional marine fuels, while BIO100 offers a reduction potential exceeding 80% on a life-cycle assessment (LCA) basis.
Through this approach, Arkas Line continues to scale up biofuel use and is committed to advancing low-carbon maritime transportation.
